Panasonic SDT750 3D HD Camcorder: Focus On

Consumer 3D, High Definition video is no longer a dream with the Panasonic SDT750 3D Camcorder.  However, with its hefty price tag, is the SDT750 really worth its buck, or are you better saving money and opting for a cheaper model?

Build/Size Quality
The SDT750 does not look like your traditional Camcorder, far from it in fact.  The large 3D lens on the front of the body provides the foundations to ensuring the first consumer 3D Cam is one of the best on the market.

Although relatively larger than most Camcorders today, don’t let the size of the SDT750 put you off.  The reason for the size is simple – it houses some advanced technology which has never before been seen in the consumer market before.

If you are on the hunt for a High Definition, 3D Camcorder, size should not be you primary concern, as most Camcorder which offer these capabilities will most surely be slightly larger than your traditional Pocket Cam for example, so please bear this in mind.

With all that said however, the SDT750 fits well into your hand, and provides a comfortable hand strap to ensure prolonged shooting does not become uncomfortable.  The on camera buttons are easy accessible and large enough for the biggest of fingers to operate with ease.

Overall, a good size and build, which houses a great quality lens making the Panasonic SDT750 3D Camcorder a unique and truly exciting build to date.

Features
The SDT750 is jam packed with new and exciting features which aims to propel home movie making to the next level.

One feature we really like is the ability to remove the 3D lens, providing the option to record in either 3D or standard mode.  This gives you flexibility and provides a great buy for the future if you don’t currently own a 3D TV.  Great idea by Panasonic enabling you to keep abreast of technology!

The SDT750 comes with a 3MOS system, which boasts to provide images with less noise and brighter pictures.

When recording in 3D full HD, images are recorded through 2 lenses, which subsequently use a conversion lens that reproduces the the 2 images into a one 3D output.  As a result, the quality of the 3D/HD images are out of this world, and will look great on a large 3d/HD TV.

Although a lot of emphasis is placed upon the 3D element of this Camcorder, let’s not forget about the HD element which could get overlooked.  Recording at 50fps and at 1080 resolution, you will be sure to couple your 3D imagery with crisp HD.

The Panasonic SDT750 also ships with a 12x optical zoom which is a little bit of a letdown.  Perhaps for a Camcorder of this calibre, it may have been nice to see perhaps a 20x optical zoom at minimum.  With that said however, 12x will get you close to your subject and will not degrade your image.  The camcorder also comes with an Intelligent Zoom Function, which ensures images are sharp and crisp when you zoom in.  The only drawback to this feature is the fact that it won’t work with the attached 3D lens, which is a major let down.

The Camcorder does not disappoint in the sound department either.  With a 5.1 Surround Sound Microphone, coupled with a Zoom functionality, this ensures your audio matches the high quality of your Video.  The Zoom Microphone means that when you zoom in, your sound does also.

Another handy little feature the Panasonic SDt750 offers is a Face Recognition/Detection and Tracking feature.  This means that the Camcorder automatically recognises faces in your shot and adjusts your Camcorders settings automatically to compensate.  Although we haven’t tested this feature, it suggests that it may be useful if you are filming in front of a strong light source where you would normally get a silhouette effect.  Once again though we haven’t tested this, but it’s a great feature to have.

Overall
A great consumer Camcorder offering advanced 3D and HD features.

With an array of professional and futuristic enhancements, the Panasonic SDT750 3D Camcorder will most certainly impress in many departments.

The price tag may be a put of for many people, but if you are on the market for a Camcorder of this calibre, expect to pay as much.

This Camcorder should most certainly be added to your short list!
