JVC GS-TD1 Full HD 3D Camcorder: Close up

The JVC GS TD 1 3D/HD Camcorderdoesn’t look like your typical video camera.  In fact, it’s far from you bog standard Camcorder.  With its protruding dual front end lens and a sleek black finish, is this Camcorder just looks, or does it boast features to die for?

Size/Build Quality
If you are on the market for a Full 3D/HD Camcorder, your primary concern shouldn’t be size.  As with most HD/3D Camcorders on the market, the JVC GS-TD1 Full HD 3D Camcorder is admittedly slightly larger than your everyday Pocket Cam for example.  The reasoning for this is simple, it houses more advanced technology, however, it’s built so that it is not too large to carry around.  This is a great plus from JVC.

The Camcorder houses a dual lens which looks like a pair of binoculars from head on, and this is a key factor in making the Camcorder appear larger than a standard machine.

Overall, the JVC GS-TD1 Full HD 3D Camcorder has a solid build quality, which easily fits into the palm of your hand for recording.  If you plan on undertaking prolonged shoots, it may be worth opting for a tripod to accompany the camera, but hand held’s shouldn’t be too much of a problem either.

On the build front, we have no qualms with this Camcorder, which is excellently laid out for easy access to buttons and the like.

Features
One thing which makes the JVC GS-TD1 Full HD 3D Camcorder so exceptional is its ability to record in full High Definition and in 3D.  To achieve this, the Camcorder uses 2 camera lenses which protrude from the front on the body.  Coupling this with a 3.32 mega pixel CMOS sensor and JVC’s ‘Falconbird’ high speed image engine, you can be sure of some spectacular HD/3D results.  JVC further suggest that with their extra low dispersion glass, you can be sure of high contrast and crisp images.

The Camcorder ships with a 3D 5x optical zoom range.  This is slightly disappointing as we would have perhaps liked to have seen a 10x plus optical zoom on a Camcorder of this calibre.  On the plus side however, the Zoom does offer additional features which are relatively new on the market, including an Optical Axis Stabilisation System, which JVC imply will give depth to your 3D images when using the zoom.  This is a great little feature and will give you assurances that you retain maximum image quality when zooming in.

The GS-TD1 also offers the ability to upscale 2D to 3D from any GSS Cam.

The Camcorder comes with a more than adequate 3.5 inch LCD display which also provides a 3D output facility.  This means that you can watch the LCD screen without glasses to enjoy full 3D playback on location or away from a 3D TV.

With the option of Bluetooth connectivity also built into the Camera, connection and synchronisation to other Bluetooth ready devices, including Smartphone’s, should not be a problem.

Overall
The JVC GS-TD1 Full HD 3D Camcorder revolutionised consumer 3D/HD upon its release.

With some advanced and professional features, its a Camcorder which will last you a good few years to come.

The image quality, as expected is outstanding, with vivid colours and sharp reproduction.

One improvement to the Camcorder could be the Zoom range, however, JVC has incorporated some excellent advanced features in to the zoom to compensate for this drawback.

Overall an exceptionally good Camcorder and well worth purchasing if you are in the Market for a 3D/HD Camcorder.
