Pinnacle Studio 15 HD Review – Capture, edit and share with ease!

Here at New Wave TV, we’ve always held the Pinnacle Studio range of Video Editing Software in high regard – until now, with Studio 15 HD forcing us to slightly change our perception of the software.

With an enhanced user interface, increased system reliability, overall greater functionality and value, Studio 15 has moved to the very top of our list when it comes to recommending software to amateur Movie Makers.

So what makes Pinnacle Studio HD so special, and is it really worth £50-£60 of your hard earned cash?

What’s New?
It’s apparent that Avid, the creator of the software, had a very clear objective during its revamp – enhanced user experience.

One of the best new features found within version 15 HD, is the archive/restore tool.  This is an excellent addition to the array of features, as it allows you to easily transfer your project from PC to PC, which could prove difficult in the past.  Additionally, there is also an essential backup facility, which makes restoring your project an ease if the unthinkable happens (system failure or file corruption as two examples).

Secondly, Avid now seem to have addressed the issues found in previous versions relating to software reliability.  Pinnacle did have an annoying habit of hanging or crashing just at the wrong time, but this now seems to be addressed in latest release.

Studio 15 HD also has the added bonus of seamlessly working with more modern video recording formats, including AVCHD, H.264 and more, making ideal for movie makers of any level.

Features
Avid has built upon the foundations laid by previous versions of the software, keeping the easy to user interface intact with some subtle changes giving a more modern feel to its appearance.  The easy import, edit, export tabs remain the same, providing a three step, easy work flow.

Pinnacle Studio 15 HD makes video editing for amateurs a breeze, with a simple drag and drop approach to adding video clips, music and transitions to your movie.  There are also montage templates which make producing titles and custom transitions easy.

The software does come bundled with a number of professional features, including the picture in picture effect, camera shake reduction, stop motion capture for creating animations and the ability to create professional looking DVD’s complete with menus.  All of this with just a few clicks of the mouse!

As its name firmly suggests, you can edit in full HD providing you with the ability to create some stunning movies with some of the effects and features mentioned above.

On completion of your edit, your next task is to share your movies for the world to see.  Studio 15 makes sharing videos a breeze, with built in tools to upload to YouTube directly from within the software itself.  You can also burn DVD’s and share your videos in a whole range of formats, including export options for the  PS3, Wii and Xbox.

Overall
Pinnacle is one of the best on the market for both amateur and professional movie makers alike.

The featured packed software provides all the tools you need to create and share stunning movies.

Best of all, Amazon currently have Pinnacle Studio HD Ultimate  for £68, or Pinnacle Studio HD Standardfor £48 so it’s well worth picking up a copy now!
