Panasonic HS900 Full HD 3D Ready Camcorder Review
This camcorder is the answer to the prayers of all those video makers who are tired of all the pseudo high-definition camcorders available today. The Panasonic HS900 is truly a high-definition 3D camcorder. Yes, it is on the higher end of the price scale, but it is still below the £1,000 mark. That said, the Panasonic HS900 is definitely worth the small fortune you pay for it.

In addition to splendid picture and video quality, the Panasonic HS900 offers a great selection of features, which obviously make it highly recommendable in spite of its substantial size.
With this cam, Panasonic seems to have concentrated more on quality than convenience in this model. Oh, don’t look so forlornly at the computer screen!
The Panasonic HS900 is indeed the best choice for those video makers—amateurs included—who are looking for a true high-definition 3D camcorder that is not a sorry excuse for an HD 3D camcorder like most of the so-called high-definition 3D camcorders available today.
Oh, don’t rush your decision to purchase the new Panasonic HS900. Sit tight and learn a bit more about it here first.
Technical Specifications and Key Features
Some of the important technical specifications and features of Panasonic HS900 are as follows:
The Panasonic HS900 possesses a 3MOS System that literally gives you picture-perfect quality. The 3MOS sensor has a three-sensor configuration that delivers 7.59 million effective motion image pixels (2.53 mega pixels x 3). The sensor splits the light passing through the lens into the three primary colours—blue, red and yellow—and individually processes each of these colours to give unmatched colour quality and detail in everything you shoot.
When it comes to still images, Panasonic HS900 delivers 7.89 mega pixels (2.63 mega pixels x 3 ), for pefect photographs every time.
The camcorder comes with an optional 3D conversion lens that allows to shoot in 3D mode. With this lens you can make your very own home videos in 3D. Isn’t that going to be fun?
It has a large 3.5” LCD display complete with touch operations, providing a great display for monitoring and playing back recorded footage.
The HS900 also has lots of recording capacity. It comes with a 220 GB HDD. You also have the option of using an SD/SDHC/SDXC memory card. With this camcorder you can shoot as much as you like and not worry about disk space. (I don’t mean that literally, but you’re obviously your smart enough to know that.)
With full-HD 1920 x 1080, 50 progressive recording, the Panasonic HS900 doesn’t just claim to deliver HD; it indeed delivers high-definition.
The camcorders has a 12x optical zoom and a 30x / 700x digital zoom, which allows you to magnify to the utmost, whatever it is you want to shoot—no matter how minute. We do recommend however that you avoid the temptation of using the digital zoom feature, as the on screen results where visibly deteriorated whilst zoomed right in.
The touch operations mentioned earlier are somewhat incredible. “Touch Zoom” allows you to slowly zoom on to the subject using your hand. “Touch Shutter” automatically focuses on and captures a still image of the subject when you touch it on the screen.
Encompassing the entire technical specifications and features of the Panasonic HS900 would require much more than a review of this size. But we’ve definitely covered most of them.
Any drawbacks or negatives?
Well, the only drawbacks I found were the size and the price of the Panasonic HS900. It is obviously a bit larger and bulkier than some other camcorders by Panasonic, especially after adding the optional 3D lens. This might be a problem for those of you who are looking for a much more compact design. Secondly, it is a bit pricier than most end-user camcorders, but then it is not the only pricy model by Panasonic and its competitors.
Why is Panasonic HS900 perfect for me?
All things considered, the Panasonic HS900 is a nice addition to the Panasonic camcorder range. It is positives certainly overweigh it is negatives. And it’s perfect for those who are willing to pay a little extra for quality. It is equally suitable for home users who want HD and 3D as it is for minor professionals working as freelancers. So if you are one of these, Panasonic HS900 best for you.
