Dreams of Life multiplatform experience to be released inline with the film in December of this year
Dreams of Life is a film directed by Carol Morley, and is based around the true story of 38 year old Joyce Vincent’s skeletal remains which were discovered in her flat three years after her death.
Fascinatingly, Hilary Perkins, Channel 4’s Multiplatform Commissioning Editor for Drama and Film, has commissioned a unique multiplatform experience to support the release of this feature film, which Film4 is the co-financer.
The narrative was devised by writer A.L. Kennedy who has crafted an occasionally disturbing story whose purpose is to prompt responses to the difficult questions of friendship, love and loneliness by the participant.
Photographer Lottie Davies has also contributed to the digital project, providing beautiful backdrops of haunting images to be played along with the narrative.
The interactive agency, Hide & Seek, has developed this digital commission as a thought-provoking experience meant to immerse the user is in the themes explored by the film. The launch of www.dreamsofyourlife.com is going to be supported by a mobile touring app, making it available to people who use the iPads in selected venues in the cities where the film is playing.
The story covers the tragedy of a 38 year old woman, Joyce Vincent, who died in her bedsit above a small shopping centre in North London back in 2003. Her heating and television were still on when her body was discovered and the film explores the difficulties inherent in the question of how something like this is even possible in modern society. Join Morely in her quest to discover who Vincent was and how she came to be so utterly forgotten.
The film is expected in cinemas on the 16th of December with the digital multiplatform launching on the 1st December.
