Reggie Yates and Holly Willoughby to host The Voice UK
It has been confirmed that both Reggie Yates and Holly Willoughby will be hosting The Voice UK.
Apparently, both Willoughby and Yates are huge fans of the show.
Holly is quoted as having said,
“I’m so excited to be hosting The Voice. When it launched in America I watched one of the shows and thought it was just a fantastic format, and when I heard it was coming to the UK I thought to myself how incredible it would be to be a part of it. It’s going to be one roller coaster of a ride and I can’t wait to get started!”
Willoughby is well known by audiences for having hosted the past five seasons of Dancing on Ice and has made a name for herself hosting other popular programmes, such as This Morning, Celebrity Juice and the Xtra Factor.
Yates has made a name for himself among the world of music lovers by hosting his Radio 1 Chart shows, T-in the Park, Big Weekend Coverage, Glastonbury and Reading. He also hosted the MOBO Awards, appeared on Move Like Michael Jackson, Rich and in the Slums, Famous and hosted three music specials for MTV.
His comments regarding being offered the job of hosting the premier of The Voice UK were
“I’m so delighted to get this job and be part of such a credible music show. The format of The Voice in America has worked brilliantly and I have no doubt it will be just as successful on British TV.”
Jessie J was confirmed as the first celebrity coach and there will be three more artistes announced in the near future. The Voice UK is expected to air in the Spring of 2012 on BBC 1.
